For clinicians
Someone just asked to record your visit
Here is what that is, in about ninety seconds of reading. KinBridge is used by family caregivers — often adult children managing a parent's care from another city — to keep track of what was said at an appointment.
What it produces
A written summary of the visit, a medication list, and follow-up items — for the patient's family. It is not a clinical record, it does not go in your chart, and it is not sent to an insurer unless the family sends it themselves.
What happens to the audio
It is transcribed and then discarded. We do not retain the recording. The family keeps the written summary in their account and can delete it whenever they want.
Why you were asked
Recording law differs by state. Where everyone present has to agree, we ask you rather than leaving the patient to guess. If we cannot show that you agreed, the app will not record.
If you decline
Recording is switched off for that visit and stays off — you will not be asked again. The family captures the visit afterwards by answering a few questions instead. Declining costs them very little, so please do if you would rather not.
What it asks of you
One tap, or one spoken answer. There is no account to create, nothing to install, and no follow-up from us.
The honest caveat
A summary written from a recording can be wrong. KinBridge tells families to treat it as their notes, not as your instructions, and every medication we read off a document has to be confirmed by a person before it counts. If a family quotes something back to you that sounds wrong, it may well be — we would much rather you correct it than assume it came from you.
